SOPHIE (was WINNIE)
Winnie came into rescue from her original home where she had been as a puppy. We were not able to get her AKC background but she is approximately 3 years old, 45 lbs, tailed docked, dews off. She was raised around other dogs and kids. The family tried to sell her, and then to give her away, but she was brought back as too vocal and wanting to be with people. She has been hunted, loves water, and loves to fetch.
July 2007: Well, her new family of course thinks that other folks were crazy to not keep this wonderful girl. So to go with her new life she got a new name. Sophie is house trained, gets to go out to sidewalk cafes for coffee, loves car rides, and loves the whole wide world.
Feb 2008: Mark and I are finally getting around to sending more pictures of Sophie. We are still enjoying her very much and can't imagine what we ever did before we got her! And yes, she sleeps in the bed with us. She is VERY spoiled! Enjoy!
Nov 2008: We just returned from the beautiful island of Kauai this morning and are trying to get used to the cold! But we missed Sophie terribly and had to come back to her as soon as we could. Here are a few pictures of Sophie from summer and fall 2008. We are still having such a blast with her. She can't get enough exercise and gets out as many times a day as she can (and as we can!). She loves sniffing high and low at Table Rock as well as out in Surprise Valley, her 2 favorite in-town outdoors spots! She is still getting me up to run in the mornings and is a faithful and steady companion. She has been a wonderful addition to our family! The sunny pictures are from the cabin on the 4th of July (her stalking squirrels) and the ones with snow are of her and Mark fishing in Montana in September. Thanks for all you do!
July 2012: We received the sad news this month that Sophie lost her battle with cancer this summer. She was diagnosed in April. Thank you to Martk & Beth for giving her the home of her dreams and loving her to the end. Visit Sophie at The Bridge.
